Donald is a retired minister of the United Reformed Church and has worked in local churches in Tyneside, Leicester and Malaysia.  Latterly, he worked for Churches Together in Britain and Ireland where he was involved ecumenically, internationally and interfaith.  Donald has acted in professional theatre.

Odette is the author of several children’s picture books.  A new one is due to be published in 2009. She is also working on a memoir of adoption.

Odette and Donald have four children, two of whom are adopted, in a mixed race family.  They now have four grandchildren.  They live in Willesden, London.  Both perform with the Company of Elders at Sadlers Wells.
